Galleyhead Lighthouse Keeper

We were thrilled to welcome a special guest to Rathbarry National School earlier this week— our local lighthouse keeper, Gerald Butler. The children were captivated by his incredible life stories and had many questions for him. It was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to learn about maritime history, navigation, and the vital role lighthouses play in keeping people safe at sea. A big thank you to Gerald for sharing his time, stories, and passion for the sea.
